" In starting The LAUNCH Project, I wanted to bring together my passion for mentorship, education, and social change to tackle the gender disparity that exists for girls and women in business, politics, and STEM fields. Through our programs, I hope to inspire young girls to see the limitless possibilities available to them, build critical skills to unleash their potential, level the playing field for future career paths, and build positive networking and mentorship opportunities to empower successful female leaders of tomorrow."

Hello! I'm Sahana and I wanted to give you a little background on the evolution of The LAUNCH Project. At thirteen years old, I attended my first girls and leadership conference in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It was then, that I realized the profound effect of bringing together successful female leaders and role models for teenage girls. The conference ignited my passion for social change, gender equality, mentorship, and education. The saying that "you can't be what you can't see" embodies my belief that it is important for girls to have strong female mentors to understand that their future opportunities are limitless. In addition, through my internship working at an underprivileged childcare center, I realized the issue of limited access and funding for out-of-school programs. Thus, equalizing opportunities for all girls, irrespective of socioeconomic factors is critical and essential. The positive impact of successful female mentors, building critical life skills in girls and connecting to a supportive community are tangible ways- I believe barriers to girl empowerment can be eliminated. This was the impetus for me to start the LAUNCH project. I look forward to working with you to launch teen girls into leaders and changemakers!
